A newer and larger vision is needed, a vision in which shelters hold themselves accountable for meeting demanding performance standards that preserve life — not destroy it.
— Edward Duvin, Father of the No Kill Movement
A true shelter should be a place where life is affirmed, both in teaching and in practice, not a building permeated with the odor of death. Talented and well-trained volunteers are the key to the four principal components of effective outreach.
• efficiently reaching target population segments • establishing credibility among that targeted audience • articulating a clear and compelling educational message • follow-up programs toward achieving an enduring attitudinal shift

Friends For Life is bringing CELEBRITY BARKITECTURE 2010 to Houston!
Check out the info: celebritybarkitecture.com
We'll be adding a few sneak peeks at the houses to come but you know how secretive artists are about their unveilings! Check back...we are definitely cajoling!
We will have stunning dog and cat abodes designed by Academy-Award winning actress Cloris Leachman, Kimberly and Dennis Quaid, Rusty Arena, artist/designer and John Kidd, designer. This is just a sampling! You will not even believe the surprises still to come! But like the George Rodrigue "Blue Dog" painting, each piece of unique art will be one of a kind and available just this one night!
Each will be available for auction at the Evening of Art for the Animals May 13, 6:30-9:30 at the River Oaks Country Club. More info? Want tickets? You may just click on the Evening of Art icon above, email us at info@adoptfriends4life.org or give us a call at 713.863.9835. See you there!
